Description: |
The vernal equinox will occur on March 20th . Then day and night will be of equal lengths of time. After that day, the northern hemisphere will be tilting a little more toward the sun each day as the days get longer than the nights, until we reach the summer solstice on June 21. The sun will be noticeably higher in the sky and the nights will begin to warm a little. [Source: Portland Press Herald]
