NASA Satellites Detect Pothole on Road to Higher Seas
Description: Ocean waters expand as they warm, driving sea levels higher over the long term. While the rise of the global ocean has been remarkably steady for the last 18 years, every once in a while, sea level rise hits a speed bump. A recent drop of nearly a quarter of an inch in sea level, is attributable to the switch from El Niño to La Niña conditions in the Pacific. [Source: NASA News]
