In this journal paper researchers point out a serious bug in the parameterization of air-sea gas exchange used in most model simulations. The temperature dependency of ocean-atmosphere gas transfer velocities is commonly estimated in terms of Schmidt numbers, i.e. the ratio of kinematic viscosity to diffusivity. A new fit for the Schmidt number dependency to seawater temperatures is presented. An idealized set of test simulation for the improved fit is provided. [Source: Ocean Modelling]
