CO2-absorbing microorganisms may adapt to ocean acidification -- study
Description: Ocean-dwelling microorganisms that absorb large amounts of atmospheric CO2 are less vulnerable to climate change than previously feared, according to a new study. German scientists found that a key species of coccolithophore can adapt over multiple generations to higher levels of ocean acidification -- a byproduct of more atmospheric CO2.
