Back in 2007, researchers published a study about changes in snow-cover extent in the Northern Hemisphere between 1972 and 2006. They concluded that snow-albedo feedback, due to reduced reflection from the early melt of snow in spring leading to further increases in warming, could have contributed to the snow-cover changes.
