Burning Man dust storms create near white-out conditions
Description: Dust storms swept through the Burning Man encampment, at times creating whiteout conditions that did little to slow down the party. Forecasters say the winds will increase through the evening, possibly hitting 40 mph in gusts or even more, before settling down around midnight. Longtime participants of the almost-anything-goes event says storms like this are nothing new, and have been offering guidance to first-time "Burners" on how to best keep their tents and gear from flying away. Almost everyone also has some sort of dust mask and goggles to protect their face and lungs from the alkali dust borne on the wind. [Source: USA Today]
