Near-record high tide causes major beach flooding
Description: Preliminary tide data from the NOAA gauge at Lewes Breakwater Harbor may explain why residents have reported the most flooding they have ever seen on the Delaware coast. The highest morning high tide was recorded at 9.15 feet - just a fraction below levels during the March Storm of 1962. That has been the storm of record for much of the Delaware coast for generations. [Source: Delaware Online]
