A Resurgence of Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon
Description: The annual deforestation rate in Brazil's Amazon plunged from nearly 11,000 square miles in 2004 to 1,700 square miles in 2012-an 84 percent decline. Now, once again, powerful economic and development pressures are bearing down on the Brazilian Amazon.
