Winds from west bring cool 'upwelling' waters along coast
Description: An "upwelling" of colder water offshore in the Atlantic Ocean has chilled fishing at times this summer and may be bringing sharks and other sea life closer to the Florida shore. The water temperature is a few degrees cooler than normal right along the beaches of Volusia and Flagler counties, and even colder than that just offshore. [Source: Daytona Beach News-Journal]
