Measles outbreak in Okinawa may spread
Description: Health officials in Japan are warning that an outbreak of measles in the southern prefecture of Okinawa could spread. The highly infectious disease causes high fever and rashes, and possibly miscarriages and premature delivery. Government officials issued a warning about the disease as more than 40 people have been confirmed infected in Okinawa. Most of the patients are believed to have had contact with a tourist from Taiwan who was confirmed infected last month. [Source: NHK World (Japan)]
