Scientist-Educator Collaborative Workshop at UNH

Location: University of New Hampshire’s New England Center
Attendance: Designed for educators who teach Grades 9-12 science; middle school educators are welcome to apply.

An important yet often untapped resource is the research scientist whose ability to connect concepts, information, and data is "second nature." Funded by the National Science Foundation, up to 15 educators will team with researchers to improve their collective understanding earth's major ocean-climate systems. The workshop will center on teams of educators and scientists (1 scientist : 3 educators ratio) who will create online learning resources that align with National Science Education Standards, Climate Literacy Principles, and Ocean Literacy Principles. Topics will focus on the current research topics of the internationally known scientists who will fully participate in all aspects of the workshop. Overnight housing on Thursday & Friday, March 12-13 (for those outside a 25-mile radius of the UNH New England Center) and alllmeals will be paid by COSEE-OS. Each participant will receive a $100 stipend.
