USEPA Awards MDIBL $84,000 - 10.18.2011

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) $84,000 to help inland Maine teachers and students understand the role of marine habitats in combating climate change. MDIBL will involve participants in restoration and conservation projects in Frenchman Bay and Hancock County.

Dr. Jane Disney, director of MDIBL’s Community Environmental Health Laboratory, will oversee the project. Jane started working with teachers and students from inland schools earlier this year with support from COSEE-OS. Read the Bangor Daily News article here.
