New SPURS Webinar Kicks Off! - 09.18.2013

SPURS (Salinity Processes in the Upper Ocean Regional Study) scientists are back for a second webinar series this fall! On Tuesday, September 18, staff at COSEE-OS, along with 33 other participants (from 19 states and 2 countries) heard from Julius Busecke, a current PhD candidate at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

Julius walked participants through how the atmosphere and ocean surface interact and what those interactions can tell us about the movement of seawater into and out of the SPURS study site in the North Atlantic Ocean. Julius was able to show participants some preliminary data he has collected from ship-board measurements and fielded many participant questions. We really enjoyed hearing Julius share his story and learning more about the freshwater cycle over the ocean!
