Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:

PhD in Geology with emphasis on Marine Geology; have taught Marine Geology for 16 years at CofC; have taught teachers Marine Science for 15 years; have developed numerous activities and hands-on models for teaching marine science; students conduct a lot of outreach; have been on many research vessels and 2 submersibles; teach oceanographic research methodologies; co-authored marine science text for teachers, Of Sand and Sea.
