Background with Respect to Ocean Sciences Education:

I have a B.S. in Geology and have completed course work for a Master's work in marine science. My thesis topic involved radiogeochemistry of coastal mangrove sediments. I also took graduate level elective education courses designed specifically for scientists to relate their field and interests in K-12 classrooms. I participated in GK12 OCEANS program, bringing ocean science to a middle school classroom, teaching 6th and 7th grades. I currently work as a science educator with Liberty Science Center delivering science content all ages within within a variety of educational programs, from presentations in Liberty Science Center exhibit floors, to traveling to schools for assembly programs or smaller classroom workshops. I also work to develop new programs for these different formats.
