Webinar 2: Human Impacts on Benthic Ecology
Presented by Anne Simpson - June 19, 2012

Though many activities, whether natural or human-caused, can affect organisms living in and on marine sediments, there are several specific kinds of fishing gear that cause a significant disturbance to these organisms. In this webinar, Anne explores the commercial fishing practices of trawling and dredging and their short and long term effects on the benthic ecosystem.
