COSEE-OS Ocean-Climate Interactive Supported Science: Enhance Meaningful Learning and Teaching through Phytoplankton Investigations, K – 5

Location: Darling Marine Center, Walpole, Maine
Attendance: Designed for Maine educators who teach Grades K – 5

Educators and scientists will collaborate at a COSEE-OS workshop to be held at the University of Maine, Darling Marine Center located in Walpole, ME. Enhance Meaningful Learning and Teaching through Phytoplankton Investigations, K -5 is a workshop designed to engage up to 10 elementary educators, K – 5, in examining their science teaching practices through scientist led and supported lab sessions investigating phytoplankton. In addition teachers will engage in hands-on technology activities to further develop an understanding of ocean inquiry using the COSEE-OS interactive website, Ocean Climate Interactive. Overnight housing Sunday, July 26th through Tuesday, July 28 is available and will be paid by COSEE-Ocean Systems. Meals will be provided and paid for also by COSEE-Ocean Systems. Each participant will receive a $100 stipend.
