In this lesson, students use observations, activities, and videos to learn basic facts about the Sun. For example, students will understand that the Sun is a star and that its radiation provides Earth with heat and light. Students also model the mechanics of day and night and use solar energy to make a tasty treat. The lesson is divided into three parts and the suggested time for completion is three class periods. Note: registration is required to access the Teachers' Domain website, but at no cost to the user. Grade level: K-4.
