Winter storms linked to climate change
Description: The tornadoes and floods that hit North Texas over several days during 2015 could be part of a wider global trend of warming temperatures, according to current climate research. Extreme weather can be identified by spotting shifts or trends in weather patterns. Analysis of climate simulations is supportive of more severe and variable weather. For example, heat waves in the U.S. South with temperature above 100 F may be three times longer by 2100 than in 2000. [Source: University of Texas at Arlington]
