VIEWPOINTS
One of the things people often say about Dr. Adina Paytan is that she is somehow able to do more in a day
than most do in a week. While this requires skillful planning and organization, plus lots of energy and
enthusiasm, the result is that Adina is also known for the many different roles that she plays in all
of her activities: researcher, teacher, mentor, collaborator, colleague – and all while balancing a
successful career with family life. She is a role model and inspiration to many – certainly for young
