Is the North Atlantic Bloom (NAB) webinar series for educators, students, or the general public?
The webinars are geared towards educators but the general public and students are welcome to join us. In terms of students - high school is about the correct level.
How long do the webinars last?
Each webinar is divided into two parts - a scientist presentation and an overview of a related data activity that can be used with students. A question and answer session with the scientist is included. The webinars are scheduled to run for a total of one hour, but participants are welcome to stay longer if they have additional questions that may arise during the training.
Will the webinars be archived if I cannot attend?
Webinar audio and/or video will be captured to "archive" the webinar, and will be available on the COSEE-OS website the Monday following each webinar. These pages are also where any relevant materials (i.e. concept maps, datasets & activities) will be posted.
Can I get a certificate of completion or record of my attendance at the webinar?
COSEE-OS can provide documentation verifying your attendance at a webinar. Please send requests for this documentation (including what information needs to be included) to Carla at carla.companion@maine.edu. Thanks!
Can I earn CEU (Continuing Education Units) from attending this webinar series?
At the conclusion of the webinar series, you may request that we provide documentation that you can use to earn CEU credit from the Univeristy of Maine. Please note that we can only award contact hours for webinars that were attended live - and that your attendance will be recorded and verified before issuing the CEUs.
