About this Scientist:
Fei Chai is a professor at the University of Maine’s School of Marine Sciences and a member of the Ocean Modeling Group. His research areas include ecosystem modeling, tropical oceanography, El Niño and the ocean carbon cycle. He studies how physical and biological processes contribute to the carbon cycle, and how the biological pump transfers carbon into the deep ocean. Fei previously collaborated with COSEE-OS as a participating scientist in the Educator-Scientist Climate Change Workshop at the Darling Marine Center in November 2008. [more]

Jennifer Albright teaches marine science at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA. She received her M.S. in Marine Biology and M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Maine. Jenny has worked extensively with COSEE-OS. She assisted in numerous workshops and courses, and co-authored the teaching guide, Teaching Physical Concepts in Oceanography: An Inquiry-based Approach.
