Many Learning Pathways in the Ocean Sciences (MLPiOS) Webinar Series: FAQ
Who is the intended audience? The 3rd and 4th pilot webinars in the series have specific target audiences: Pilot 3: Scientist Mentors and Science Liaisons; Pilot 4: Graduate Students and Faculty Advisors). However, overall, the series targets new ocean sciences or geosciences faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and science education coordinators and facilitators. We endeavor to include the general public as space allows.
How long do the webinars last? The webinars are scheduled to run for an hour. Each webinar is divided into two parts - a scientist presentation, an education research presentation with built-in time for discussion.
Will the webinars be archived if I cannot attend? Webinar audio and/or video will be captured to "archive" the webinar, and will be available on the COSEE-OS website after the webinar has concluded. Small clips may be featured in the blog, which is also where any relevant materials (i.e. concept maps, resource lists, follow-up scientist info) will be posted.
Can I get a certificate or completion or record of my attendance at the webinar? COSEE-OS can provide documentation verifying your attendance at a webinar. Please send requests for this documentation (including what information needs to be included) to Christy at christy.herren@gmail.com. Thanks!
